Go Out and Grab Life by the Balls and LIVE!

Today, I found out some very sad news. A friend of our family passed away suddenly on Christmas eve day. This man was only 50 years old. He left a wife, and two children. My friend was a leader in the church, worked with our kids for many years, worked hard for his family and was extremely kind and caring whenever I spoke to him. Now, I know this sounds like something that happens everyday, and I probably have not seen this family for a couple of years, but it really hit me hard. It made me start to think about where am I going with my life. Am I making a difference? What exactly am I doing here? If I died today, would I have any regrets or loss for what I didn’t do here? Now, I know my friend is in heaven, and that is where I believe I will go also, but do you think he was satisfied with what he had done in life? I am not really expecting you to answer that, but you know what I mean, right?

So, I started to break this down a bit. If I were to die at age 50, that would only give me about 8 1/2 years to get done what I need to get done. Now, I do not believe for one minute that I am going to die at age 50, but one never knows. Let’s just say, I live to be the ripe age of 78. That is a good number around my family and our history. That would give me approximately 36.5 years. That is not much time when you think about it. Broken down that is 13,322.50 days, 319,740 hours, and I am not even going to figure out the minutes. That is not much time when you break it down like that. Wow, I had better get off my butt and start living, what about you? What are you afraid of? I have to tell you, I am afraid life will pass me by and I will have worked for other people’s dreams instead of my own. I will have sacrificed everything I have and am for everyone else, and what am I showing my family, and the legacy I pass on to them, especially my daughter, life is okay to live if you just go out and work for someone else’s dreams. NO! Give up on your own ambitions, settle for things in life you never imagined you would ever settle for in a million years? NO! Of course, I don’t want you to think I am ungrateful in anyway for what God has given to me. God has been generous and kind and giving to me over the years. I love my family and there is not a day that goes by that I do not want to be here for them fully and completely. But now is my time to go out and become the woman, mother, wife, business owner I was meant to be.

What is stopping you from going out and getting what you want? Don’t wait until it is too late. Today is the beginning of the rest of your life. So go out and grab the life by the balls, stop living in fear, and do it, NOW! I hope we can all join together and make a difference in each others lives as we step out of the comfort zone and malaise of our lives, and as Nike said, JUST DO IT!

Transform your life today!

Hey Wendy! Great post!
As the quote goes….
‘We are all going to die, but have we all truly lived!?!’
I’m on an absolute mission….to live my best life, while inspiring others to do the same!
Let’s go grab life by the balls! ;-)

Thanks for the reminder to always live life to the fullest. We should never put off for tomorrow what can be achieved today, for tomorrow is not promised to us!

It’s funny how things like this make us take stock isn’t it – I for one think that the saddest words in our language are “if only”. I have had a challenging start to the New Year, but it has just made me more determined to make a difference in the lives of my children, my family and to as many people as I can.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts,
Nicky

Thanks for sharing your story with us and when you put it like you have I suppose we don’t have much time. When I think about it I may have already lived half my life.

Very thought provoking post.
